Well, I think I safely say I don't agree with a lot of their lyrics. I like the instruments, just not the lyrics, lol. Especially "I'm a good 'ol Rebel" Though I do know that freeing the slaves back in the 1800's was Lincolns way of saving money, and south just wanted to govern themselves....I still don't agree. In my CD collection, I have mostly classic rock, like the Doors, CCR, Sabbath, Zepplin, The Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and thousands more, lol. Then I got some metal music, like Iced Earth, and then some country.

I was never saying that I agreed with their words. The band itself doesn't believe in the songs, they preform them for historical purposes. Though slavery was a very wrong practice, it was the only living many of the southerners had.

Oh okay. I thought that was how the band felt and stuff. I still don't like the lyrics though. The music is pretty good though. Yes slavery was very wrong. But did you know Lincoln only freed the slaves because it was cheaper to set them free then it was to house and feed them? If you would compare the living conditions of a southern slave to that of a northern poor man/woman working in the factories, you would prefer to be a slave. I'm not saying slavery was a good thing. It's a horrible thing to do to another. You can disagree or agree with this. It was just what I was taught and what I learned.

For whatever reason Lincoln released the slaves, it was a good move... in my opinion. He was a wise man, whatever his motives.
About the slavery v. free worker thing. I'd rather die of starvation than to be forced to work or whipped. Even if the living conditions of the slaves were better, they were still horrifically mistreated.

Very true, they were. Both had equally hard lives I suppose. Lincoln did good by setting the slaves free, he really did. Its just the fact that he used setting them free as an excuse to save money. That about blows my mind away.
I am glad that we are all treated somewhat "equally" in this 21st century time period. Now if only we can do something about those corrupt political leaders...lol

Yep.
I am so dead tired... my cold has worsened. During P.E. we were supposed to run between two lines 10 times in 42 seconds. Because I'm so damn sick I didn't make it by a few stupid seconds. She made me run even more, and by the end I was practically wheezing... and I couldn't get enough air. It took me nearly half of the class to finally feel like I wasn't about to faint. Now that I'm home I'm going to take a quick nap and let the pain-killer take out my headache before attempting to tackle my homework...

That sucks Eolith. I am getting sick too, so I know how you feel. I got (had) a headache and my stomache tied itself into a knot. I came home early from school and took a shower right away-seemed to help a bit. Sorry you're feeling bad. Sorry your teacher was being such an ass too, lol.

The sickness season is definitely coming on... and I hate it. Argh. The real cause is our being around so many others in classrooms and such. Over the summer we don't usually come into contact with as many viruses.

I think I'm sick because my little broter was sick not long ago. And he only got sick 'cause some kid at his school was sick-I'm guessing. I don't get sick often, but when I do, its like a storm. It hits, and it stays for a while, and the after math is no fun either, lol. Oh, I forgot to mention, I like the new avatar.

I'm not one to get super sick much either. My mom's a pediatrician, so she knows her stuff. She said she thought I had the 'big kid' version of croup or something like that. I wonder if I'll be able to speak... I haven't tried yet this morning and my throat hurts as bad as ever. Yesterday my voice nearly died on me. Even if I do go to school I'm going to beg my mom to write a little note saying I don't have to participate in P.E. She has the power to do so 'cause she can just add 'M.D.' to her signature. Hehe. Anyway, I'm glad you like the avatar. There's a bigger picture that could accompany it but I decided against putting it in my signature because... well, it's big. ;D

Eee. That sucks babe. I had my voice die on me before-it was no fun, lol. I think I had the flu or something that week. But that was three years ago.
lol, I bet that comes in handy don't it? But it probably has its downfalls huh?
You can always resize the picture to fit better you know? The avatar is real cool, I like how it looks kinda blury with the fog or smoke, or clouds-whatever it is lol.

It's clouds... stormy clouds... in Yosemite. Lol. I knew you would suggest resizing it, I've just been too lazy to do so. Maybe some day...
Actually, I have nothing better to do so I'll do it now. It'll probably be in my signature when you read this.

Yes ma'am you were right. Looks good Eolith. Very cool.
Biscuitsandgravey! This is hard freakin' work! I am keeping my forum going, while still updating it, working with codes, getting graphics done, helping a good friend get her board going, getting those graphics and coding done, followed by reading of 20+ stories on two boards, and then modding on another board, followed by being active on a few others. *yells* I love to keep myself busy, can you tell? lol.

Wow... you do all this and homework? I have my own forum, that I run called FantasyChat101. I love it. I'm also active here and on another board.... and sometimes I visit one other board, but it's kinda dying anyway. I suppose I just spend a bit more time on each... and on horse riding... and on typing my stories.
That reminds me, I really need to work on my main story some more. I keep telling myself I'm going to finish it by such and such a date... but I never do! I keep getting stuck, because my main character is admittedly a woss. He has alot of my emotions tied into him from when I was rather miserable socially once upon a time. I'm gradually working on building up his courage, self-confidence, and bravery, but it's hard not to go too fast. At the end of his story he tells a peasant boy to go tell a king that if he wants to know about his tale the king had better be there when his visits his father in the hospice. That's a pretty freakin' bold thing to say!... Sorry, I kinda lost myself while typing... I could go on forever about just about any of my stories...

Yes ma'am. But I hardly ever get homework, because I end up doing it at school. So when I get home I'm usually free.
lol, so can most writers. Sounds like ya got yerself in a jam there sweetheart. Do you know how to put yourself into moods? I do it quite often when writing. If I need an angry moment with my characters, I get myself real pissed off. Or if I need a sad moment, I'll make myself feel sad. Its quite strange actually, lol. But it helps when writing-sometimes.
