First off, my big dream is and always has been to write a novel. In my younger years, approx. 3 or 4 I began to write short stories and fan fics, though I didn't know they were called fan fics. I have had an idea for a story since the 8th grade, I am now in the 11th grade and have yet to really complete the idea. In one incarnation I have written 3 chapters, but I am not satisfied with it, thus I have taken it upon myself to start writing it again, this time from an earlier time period. Now, I do not know how good I am at writing, only that it is my one true love and pleasure in this life. I will not be offended if comments are negative or if anyone points out a problem and "constructively criticizes" me, I am an amateur. I am aware this is a very short piece, I am trying to get pointers and helpful idea early in the process.
Trajet stepped to the center of the chamber, careful to make eye contact with each of the council members. He had prepared himself for this day, this moment, when he would leave the sky realm, but it now seemed the most difficult thing in the world to do. A slow nod and a sweeping gesture of the Grand Elder's hand, Trajet's father, was the signal for Trajet to explain his presence in the council’s chamber. Trajet took another short moment to assure himself of his decision and looked his father in the eye.
"I come to you, Council of Elders, to inform you of a decision I have made about my presence here in the sky realm. I have decided that I must depart from you, rulers of the mortal world, to pursue what I hope will be my ultimate destiny."
Trajet looked at another council member, Gralias of the Soul, and found within himself a renewed sense of determination.
"I have come to love a mortal woman and she too has come to love me, but our love has become distanced by my attachment to this realm. I ask for your blessing, for without it my decision will make my life unbearable, I ask for you too let me leave this realm to join the mortal realm. I have already prepared the proper talismans to keep me from returning to this realm, I only ask that you accept my choice."
Trajet watched as the elders looked from one another and back to him until it became apparent that each had made up their mind. As he looked to each council member he received a nod of acknowledgement from all but his father who would not voice his opinion until the room was clear. All of the council members except for Trajet and his father faded from the room without hesitation knowing that they would need to talk.
Herkaes, Trajet's father, rose from his seat and walked to where Trajet stood. Herkaes placed his hand on Trajet's shoulder and smiled, though his eyes revealed tears beginning to form and streak his face, he was happy for Trajet. Wrapping his arms around Trajet Herkaes held him in a warm embrace for several moments before letting go.
"If this is what you must do, my son, then do so. My heart may ache for you when you leave, but if you stay and deny yourself the love of another my heart may falter and leave me in perpetual sadness."
Hearing this, Trajet smiled and hugged Herkaes as he had done only moments earlier. A stray tear streaked down Trajet's cheek and he wiped it of with the back of his hand.
"You are, and forever will be, my father. No matter how many realms come between us, our bond is eternal and though I a may never see you again you will always be with me."
