Ive got to be honest that was the most boring book ever, to be honest i didnt have high hopes for it but it was a real let down. Its hailed as a classic but i dont see what all the fuss is about. Its storyline is too nice and the fact its set in the 30s doesnt help. If i had to rate it out off 10 lets just say the numbers dont get that low...

just dont read 2 tonnes of fantasy before reading this book or it'll move slower for you than i found it...
which believe me is a very bad thing

kakaka, my mom bought me that.
Tried to read it three times but I always lost interest before the first ten pages finished. =P So I can't give a fully correct analysis but I'd assume that first impression kinda matches yours.
More so because I tend to read almost ONLY fantasy and scifi. <3
But hideously boring it was indeed. =/ If you want good classics go for ze Bronte Sisters. Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre, m'dears. <3

Oh, they have a movie? Tis not in b&w is it? -shudders- I can never tell who's who in b&w movies... don't know why.
I hardly know what the topic is as I haven't read it, although I do believe it's required for 11th grade.... ugh... >_> I'll put it off till then, I suppose. xD
I'm assuming you've tread it then?

They should remake it then. =D Or make a parady set in modern times. ^_^
Grade 10? Are you serious? I thought it'd be like... -counts- grade bazillion. Well, going from my amazing logic skills that say boring=higher reading level. And since that was Reeeaaallly boring...
ah well. xD I still refuse to read it till I have to.
And that goes for the movie as well now. >_< Fooo.....
