First off, how many of you have heard of R.A. Salvatore? Secondly, if you have read R.A. Salvatore's work, and J.R.R Tolkien's, which do you prefer? Thirdly, do you like either author?

J.R.R. Tolkien's although I found the lord of the rings slow moving I loved the hobbit BUT Terry Brooks is better then both, and writes that same genre

I must live in a cave (oh wait, I kinda do...don't ask). The name sounds familiar, but I don't think I've read any Terry Brooks books. I too found Lord of the Rings very slow moving. Tolkien put a lot of detail into his novels. But the books weren't about fantasy, fighting, love and war, the story was about the story. Did you know that Tolkien based the LOTR series off the cold war?

Yep, alright Terry Brooks, he wrote the Shannara series, and the Word and Void series another good one I've read is Terry Goodkind, he does the Sword of Truth Series.

I read a series with huge books once. I loved it, because as I was younger, it took me nearly all of my sixth grade year to finish them. I knew the land very well, and I enjoyed the stories... Only thing was, I really shouldn't have been reading it at sixth grade... it had some... interesting scenes. I think it's a fairly unknown series, by the name of The Cheysuli Series. (Another cool thing was that by the end of the books I knew all of the Cheysuli words. ;D It was cool.) Correct me if I'm wrong in assuming not many of you have read it.

Lmfao In the sword of Truth series, there are evil people which is a given but some women get rapped in the stories, so I was like wow alrighty this is odd, well I guess it would be as realistic as a fantasy could get. -Shades, Admin.

oooookay....
I prefer something a little less...um....strange...but I guess I can't judge a book unless I've read it. I'll still check it out, though.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!! Its isnt a strange book, thats just part of the story, common its happened all through history, be a little more mature with this (that coming from me is hilarious) The author was just trying to be realistic.

Yes well, speaking of that I'm trying to work up the guts to post something with some... interesting content in the 'Fragment' section. I'm afraid you'd all think I was twisted in the mind though...

I guess I didn't mean strange. And yes I know it happens throghout history, I'm a history buff. I don't think I worded my previous post correctly. I read all kinds of funky crud in books. Hell, I have a series written by David Sherman and Dan Cragg called STARFIST. Both are ex-military, and the book is about futuristic military, and let me tell you, there are some ruff/funky parts of those books. We're all writers here. I'm sure we can all assume that you aren't a twisted pervert...right? Just kidding.

Okay, I've posted it. Just remember, I'm not a pervert. It's called 'Vampire'... I wasn't feeling inventive as to the title.
