On my site urgenthal i thought it would be good if we created some gods
so i sat at my pc for something over 1 hour and did all the work of the top of my head
so now the question is
what do you guys think of this stuff
***************************************************
Rathmar -creator god
Geslm- Wife of the creator god (female)
Rathmir- child of Rathmar and Geslm and mother of humanity (female)
Harmony- god of peace and love (female)
Lilianth- god of nature and woods (female)
Harleth- The god of justice (female)
Prima Mortis- the god of death
Mont Cya- the god of rocks and mountains
Seana- God of water (female)
Jarlt- God of fire and home
Parth- the god of travelling and messages
Karmanth- god of the dwarves and brother to Mont Cya and Jarlt
Thursian- god of the elves (dead)
Rathmar is the creator god, he spent the time and effort into creating the world as we see it and it is his divine intervention that changes the world.
He works in concert with the other gods. Ever since the death and fall of Thursian, Rathmar has been keeping a close eye on the younger gods, especially his daughter, Rathmir.
Rathmir takes great care in his work and was ultimately responsible for the creation of the Eternal Guard. His current works remain a mystery to the other gods except to Geslm, his wife, with whom he shares everything as a sign of trust and faith.
He is often beseeched by those who are unsure of their life or by those who want great power in them. Many are the leaders who have hoped to gain his favour, being the creator god he favours the creation of life as payment rather than the sacrifices that other gods require.
It is often said that he smiles and watches us in this land as we perform for him. Our lives are but a play for him to watch. It is said that he watches from his house on the moon which he built as a haven for those he deemed worthy.
Rathmar is often seen as the principal god, but that is not the case, the gods all consider each other equals, as they know that without one another their world will not survive, without the god of fire there will be no light for Rathmar’s subjects, without Harmony there would be war and this existence would be terrible if it were to exist at all.
The only reason Rathmar appears superior is because he is consulted by so many on so many great and vast subjects…
As the wife of the creator god, Geslm commands great power and respect amongst her fellow gods let alone the mortals of the realm. She is also put under the greatest scrutiny, because with her great power comes great thought.
Geslm is often seen as a back door to power because of her connection to Rathmir.
This is totally false, and anyone wishing to play politics with her is a fool indeed, for Geslm is the epitome of knowledge and wisdom, behind her charming face is a catalogue kept in check by her amazing memory and quick wit.
Geslm is Rathmir’s wife and has given him a daughter, Rathmir; she is ever teaching the young goddess the ways of the world and how to control her power. For soon the times will change and Rathmir will be a young goddess looking for power, but she is yet to show a specific source of power but many speculate that the daughter will follow her wise mother’s path.
Geslm is the perfect example of the quote, “Behind every strong man is a strong woman.”
Little is known of the god child Rathmir save that she is the daughter of the gods Geslm and Rathmar. Many of the gods are seen as specific too a certain aspect of life, yet this had not been seen in Rathmir.
But it is said that she visits the great champions of freedom and that she is a kind and caring god who sees the best in every being and she is said to be the hope of those without hope.
The God Harmony is the flow of peace and happiness in the world. Often she is a bright and bubbly character who is a symbol of love and companionship to all races. She is the beacon to all lovers and those who seek peace.
But Harmony also deals with the darker side of love, the lust, the carvings, the desire and the forbidden passions.
Her disciples are everywhere in the life of mortals, the virile woman, the attractive man, the buxom maid who serves her master with a seductive smile and many more. She is praised and scorned in equal measure as a result, many are her followers and as a god she has her choice of partner from all areas, no one can resist her call, for she is love and seduction in the form of purest beauty...
Lilianth is the sister of Harmony; both have extraordinary beauty and share a compassion for life in all of its natural form.
But the two are rarely together as the realm of mortals is in constant need of nature. Lilianth supplies all these forms of nature to the mortals.
She provides the harvest each year, the new pups and kittens to the house bound cats and dogs, she is even believed to help Rathmar in the process of creation, helping him to bring a natural form to his living creations.
She gives us the orchids and flowers that brighten a summer garden, and as such is the most revered of gods for farmers and gardeners.
Her symbol, the purple Orchid, is a sign of natural life and often seen as a sign of fertility.
She is mainly connected to the woodsmen as it is she who makes the forest come alive with fresh buds each year and the legions of her followers always have their banners blessed by the presence of a purple Orchid flower as a sign of their faith.
Harleth is one of the wisest and oldest of all gods. She has spent many millennia pondering over questions of morality and right or wrong only to find her solution from examples from the past. She watches over the world with a keen eye, looking for problems and solutions, often to no end.
Her scribes are ever noting her words so that they can compile the tome of justice, a task they began thousands of years ago, dealing with everything that they have seen and heard of, from stealing and fighting to the murder of innocents and treason, and it is a task that may never truly be finished for justice is ever changing as new horrors and shocks come to light in the world...
Prima Mortis is a relatively young god, he is older than many of the gods but he did not exist until the first mortals walked the earth. And ever since he has sat poised and ready to strike on those who walk, crawl and run in their vain attempts to elude death.
Prima Mortis is the god of death and his power as a god is the only guarantied constant, he works in close concert with Rathmar, Geslm and Lilianth in order to purge the world of the impure and unnatural but at times he is left to wonder on the earth. He is often found on the scene of battle, carrying souls from their bodies too the other world on the far side of the moon.
Mont Cya is the god of rock and mountain, his brothers, Jarlt and Karmanth, and he work towards the bettering of the dwarven people in order to fulfil an ancient promise to one another.
It is because of this that the dwarven people survive. Mont Cya provides a home for all his subjects in the form of the mountains. He commands all that enter the mountain realm. He is depicted as a large man with the power of stone in his blood.
His messages to his followers are often found on rocks that fall from the heavens of the few that are found; nearly all are hoarded by the dwarves who worship the mountains who see these rocks as great instructions to be followed to the letter.
All life needs water and water is controlled by the beautiful Seana, goddess of the waters.
Her influence is where there is but 1 drop of moisture. She is the mistress of the seas and the god of the sailors and aquatic raves alike. No thing would exist without her grace, so many give praise to her on a daily basis, the farmer, the warrior, the craftsmen and the traveller are all under her sway but this power she does not neglect. She must be fair and just and must not forget that all life is dead without her. Seana is closely linked to Lilianth as the two work to achieve a more vibrant world for all those who wish for it.
Warmth is much sought after and is praised as a good omen, a warm house is a happy house and a warm house is often seen as blessed by Jarlt the god of fire and home. When Jarlt combines his two abilities he is praised by those who receive his grace. He is one of the most praised gods of all time and is never without followers for he gives to all who asks, in the spark of a fire he finds great pleasure and in his home on the sun he has all the fire he needs to give to the world.
One of the only things that Jarlt asks of his followers is that they spread his word in the lighting of a candle and the warmth of a happy home.
Jarlt is madly in love with the god of love Harmony, with whom he shares an odd relationship, where ever she goes he is soon to follow, she brings love and he brings the warmth to all the scenes of joy in this world.
In every spoken word there is the influence of Parth. Parth is the youngest of all the gods, for it is only within him there is the energy to travel and to talk. Parth is fluent in all the languages of the world and is ever ready to prove himself to the older gods. His energy knows no bounds and the young god is often seen as a happy smiling teenager.
The followers of Parth are typically swift or are in possession of a great memory or vocabulary.
Parth also has a small influence in learning.
Learning is the passing of messages to better the mind and as such many of the study centres are often dedicated to Parth and Geslm for Geslm provides the knowledge whilst Parth delivers it through word of mouth.
Karmanth is the chief god of the dwarven people. He beseeched Rathmar to make his dream come to life, he dreamed of a people, hard and foreboding yet kind and skilled in most crafts. Rathmar would not normally comply with the demands of Karmanth but they were great friends, and Karmanth and his brothers had recently proved their worth to the other gods, by granting them each a rich and hand crafted gift.
Soon Rathmar had sculpted the men and women that would soon become dwarves; he presented them to Karmanth and his brothers on the night of a feast that the dwarves call "Karmanth Kark Idol" which means "Karmanth’s perfect idols". Although only the dwarves know the true date of the feast many believe it to be the feast held at the rising of the sun.
Karmanth is always revered in the dwarven halls and besmirching his name is often a death scentance...
The gods have always had their differences but they never had such troubles as when the god Thursian, (creator of the elves) decided he was superior to all the other gods.
Thursian heavily insulted the god of justice (Harleth) and was sent into exile.
He returned 7 eons later to take his vengeance with the elves, his children, and tried to take the land of the gods.
He failed.
Using the eternal guard the gods set out to destroy all of the elves one by one.
The first to die was Thursian his once proud existence was shattered by the justice of Harleth who used knifes to kill him over the space of a year, cutting a small piece and then leaving Thursian for a day, then returning to cut him again.
With the last of Thursian’s blood drops the gods knew their job was done.
Whilst Thursian was dying each of his people was executed before him.
With the death of Thursian balance was restored.
His people were removed and all was left to settle in the eons that followed.
