ooc. this is just an extract of one of my stories from another site
basically it what happens when an invading army torches a town
only thing wrong is that a junior officer has tried to rape a woman hoping he wont be noticed
i may go on to post the whole thread in which this happened as i quite like it
Ulrich let out a beastial roar as he rammed his sword through a farmer who had tried to defend himself with a hoe, as the man went limp Ulrich turned, his sword grinding out of the man's chest.
"Kill them all." He bellowed, cheers coming from his men, tears flowing from the eyes of the farm people, he lowered his voice, "Then we will have our fun."
Two nearby cadets realized what was going to happen, holding handfuls of wealth they smiled too each other.
Ulrich looked at their looting, he took two mighty steps over too the cadets, and rammed his sword into the dirt, he took a handful of their treasure, and inspected it with a bloodsoaked hand and a knowing eye. "This is too rich for the likes of farm folk." He thought, baring over the two men he asked, "Who's house did you take this from, and who was inside."
"We dont know the owner, sir, there was no one there, there is still more in the house, if sir would like a guide."
"You know your place men, but no, i lust not for trinkets, but the taking of such trinkets is illegal by our laws, and i have right to remove your hands,"The two men cringed and nearly dropped they're hard found loot, "But i may overlook the matter, with something to distract my eyes..."
He picket out a small trinket on a chain and gave them the rest which was now slick with blood, "How many do you reckon there are left."
"Well, sir, my guess is a little over twenty." One soldier said, still slightly quivering under the eyes of his officer.
"A good guess, you two will walk with me now." He said, grabbing his sword out of the muck, and wiping it on the body of a dead towns-person.
He let his men finish the people off.
When they were all dead he sent his two new acolytes to fetch the other legions.
Soon the whole city was full of imperial soldiers.
The rapist was still bound and gagged in the center of the circle that now formed around Ulrich. Once all eyes where on him, Ulrich began, his mighty voice carrying to the ears of all those who still lived.
"What we have done here is horrible, it is barbaric, but it is the will of our Lord the Emporer, our guiding light in troubled times, more than one of us have been tempted by the shine of metal, the feel of silken cloth, which is almost acceptible under the circumstances, but one of our number has fallen to another temptation, that of the flesh, and he has shown weekness to this temptation, and for that, he shall die." He took a brief pause, "General Sarch, Leutentant Helfer, to the front please."
Two figures moved through the crowd, the young athletic form of Helfer, and the older more worn shape of Sarch.
"As we are less barbaric than those too the north this man has a right to a form of trial, all that I ask is this," He asked, "Do you agree to the charges and scentancing of this man?" He pointed too the squirming cadet on the ground.
"Aye!" Answered Sarch, his deep voice sounding like a bell of doom to the cadet.
A cheer from the crowd.
"Aye!" Answered Helfer, his young voice ringing with the authority of his older companions.
Another cheer.
"Then he will die." A final cheer from the crowd, "remember, I would do the same to you all!" Ulrich said, pointing to the crowd of warriors, "none of us are above the law of our people!"
Ulrich grabbed the man's throat through the barbed roots that bound him to the ground.
And with one mighty pull he ripped the man out of the roots, with a single bulgeing arm he held him in the air his feet hovering a foot off of the ground.
"You there," He pointed to one of the cadets he had found looting earlier, "Prove your loyalty!"
The crowd roared for blood as the young cadet walked forward, his bloodied sword drawn.
He stopped one foot from his commander.
Ulrich dropped the man with a crunch.
The cadet lifted his sword and swung the blade down, it tore though the skin of the throat, through the jugular vein with a splash and then through the wind pipe and out of the other side of the throat.
The body went numb, the head rolled.
Ulruich watched on, when the cadet stood up, splashed in blood, he smiled. "Now lads, fill your pockets!"
A large roar came from the crowd, the cadet moved away, but Ulrich stopped him and looked down on the cadet.
"There is now a junior officer post available in my legion you are fit for the post it is given to you."
The new junior officer just smiled.
