I'm pretty sure everyone has heard of the Darren Shan Books, and the new Demonata series, well I've read the DS series and finished reading the Lord loss book before it was out in Canada becasue I was in Holland and decided to pick it up at Waterstones, well this man is a fantastic story teller, it tells the tale of a Young boy who becomes a vampires assitant, if you haven't read it please do so. Not all the books are out in Canada and the USA so it might be a hassle getting the rest of the books (once again in holland at Waterstones lol).

Are you talking about SOns of Destiny or Lord Loss? it was out in the UK and Ireland before anywhere else m8, so my suggestion is ask teh store cashier lady, or if it is like Chapters in Canada their are people walking around just waiting to help you, but if you can't find it go to Waterstones I know they have it. The way Lord Loss is written is really wierd though, I didn't like it at first but about 10 pages in I got the hang of it all, so stick with it, it's worth it. -Shades, Admin.

Don't mean to sound dumb, but I've never heard of Darren Shan. What kind of writing does he do?

Vampiric, writing not satanic more of stories about people who get caught up in the underworld go to the library and get out Cirque Du Freak, it is the first book and is very good.

You are the second person I've heard talk about Cirque Du Freak. The first one was by a guy named King of Fighters on my Arena site. I guess I'll have to do that. Thanks!

I've read the vampire saga of Darren Shan and it had me gripped for weeks. My little brothers school library has a copy of LORD LOSS he has read it and says it is dead cool. I think that Darren Shan is one of the best writers i have EVER come across and I'm a Lord of the Rings fanatic!

LOL Darren Shan really doesn't include that visualization that J.R.R. Tolkien does, but the way he rights gets the poimnt across without wasting ink. Lord Loss was written in quiet a unique way, once again I think Darren Shan is playing on the idea of diaries, because the book itself is written like a diarie which kinda sucks but one u get into it you dont notice, also Lord Loss is way more bloody then the DS Saga, well worth looking into it lol. I got my copy in June where as it just came out here like a month ago in October, lol and the "Demon Thief" comes out in January so I'ma gunna head on over to ebay or better yet amazon.co.uk and order it lol well worth the shipping charges.

if you look at the DS saga it does mention alot of stuff about Darren's diary. e.g. when darren is injured in the 3rd one he touches up his diary. also he gives a diary to MR.Tall in the last one (when he is a little person) so i think that the saga is a diary

OH NO REALLY!?!?!?!?! lol common dont ruin it for ppl, and we all figured that out lol, hence the part saying give it to the future me, and he can do w/e he wants with it, if he becomes an author let him publish it) lol and he gives a whole pack of diaries to Mr. Tall and Lord Loss is a diary, Darren Shan is uber into diaries.
