Leaving Renna
In a village called Renna lived a moral prophesy. “Those who seek shall be sought”. A girl named Grey wasn’t into prophesies but she was a little fascinated with an old myth her grandmother told her. Just outside of Renna there was a place called Taki Mountains. Over Taki Mountains and through the old farming fields, was an enchanted forest. Inside the deepest part of the forest there was supposedly a place called Echo Falls.
Grey was a very intellect person with great knowledge and an inquisitive mind. She was a tall person with her long blonde hair and deep blue eyes. Her clothes were stretched and a little unkempt. Her most distinguishing feature was her wolf chain. The chain has three wolf heads one for the left, right and centre. The centre head had a sword going through it. Grey would never take it off.
The world where Renna lay was once a great land, but now bizarre, eerie and uncanny creatures roam the even the smallest of places. Anyone would know better than to go out of the sanctum of divine grounds without being trained and equipped with the knowledge and armaments of safety. Grey had basic knowledge of this but didn’t have the equipment. Searching around Renna Grey first went to an old inn. She went up to a smallish man and asked if he had seen any old swords to use as an heirloom. The man had never heard of such craftsmanship. Grey left the inn. She headed towards the old tower she thought to herself surly someone there had seen an armament she could use. Grey found herself standing at the foot on the tower. She felt a lot smaller than she had originally thought. Inside she found an old sword and engraved on it there was a different type of speech with a head of a dragon.
“Hey what do you think you’re doing with that sword?!” Grey stood motionless as the person opposed her.
“If you want that sword you will have to face me in a round of practice training” Grey looked round to see if she could avoid the conflict but to no avail.
“We shall only use wooden swords and the challenge is the first one to be struck three times is out” The time began when Grey said she was ready. The person lunged at her grey reacted like any child would she put up her sword hoping to avoid being struck. The quick action by Grey allowed her to slip in a quick stab. Grey jumped back moving constantly to avoid being smacked in the face. She only needed to obtain another two strikes and she would win. Grey had to wait for another open opportunity when he jumped Grey rolled under while holding up her sword. That leaves one more to go. This time grey went out in full force. She charged and left her self defenceless. Grey took a hit. Grey needed to win if she wanted to go on her little adventure Grey charged one more time but this time avoiding the swipes of the sword. Grey finally was close enough to strike. Grey had passed the trial.
“You may now take the sword you wish to have from the tower” The person bowed over and allowed grey to leave with the sword. Grey also needed a safeguard so she headed towards the old dumping ground. They were starting to clear out the grounds Grey had picked the perfect time to start looking. Along one side there was a piece of metal rounded and smoothed it had a straightforward design on it. Furthermore she explored and found a brown leather strap with enough room to fit her sword. It was getting late so Grey headed home for the night.
During the night Grey had a dream. She dreamt that she was a little pyrofly. She seen a bright light and was somewhere she had never seen before. Around Grey’s neck her wolf chain was glowing strangely. The left eyes went red, right blue and the centre green. When Grey woke up the chain was back in its regular state. Grey unaware of the chain, she headed out to Taki Mountains that following morning.
Dawn broke and the sky was lit with a great sunburst. Grey knew that today would be a good day to start her mini adventure. She hadn’t told anyone about her little secret but she couldn’t leave without saying good bye. The only place she could turn to was her friend at the chapel.
The chapel was a sacred place. Sprites and eternal beings made home there. People would come here for aid, support or just to honour and respect the deceased. People with the knowledge of arcane or soul magic could practice here. Grey entered the room where her friend would always be sitting. At a patch of flowers, a mixture of primroses, sunflowers and tulips.
Grey’s friend looked at her “Can I help you grey?” Her name was Magnum.
Magnum wasn’t as tall as Grey in fact she was a lot smaller. Magnum was an understanding person. She would keep things to herself most of the time but would agree with anything anyone would say. She wears more loose and shapeless clothing and has a ruby ring.
Grey looked down on Magnum. “I’m going to leave Renna and go on an adventure and I don’t want you to get worried or tell anyone about this” Magnum knew that no one would approve of this and neither did she “Grey I’m not going to let you leave this sanctum” Magnum moved past blocking the exit
“It’s like saying your going to kill yourself” Magnum said bluntly.
“You know of all the…” Grey butted in
“Monsters and stories of what happened to them. So what I want to go… so I will”
Grey pushed past Magnum and left the chapel and headed towards the main gate. Grey without warning stormed out of the gate and headed for Taki Mountains.
Grey was walking along the road, passing the fields and each time she went closer to the mountains the road changed into a rocky and gritty path and the air grew colder as the sky got darker. The scenery had changed. She had never actually seen anything like this. Her only images of the world beyond were the images that her land deceased father had shown her. She was still in the safety of the sanctum. Grey started to draw weary from her travels. She set up her camp at the edge of an old rusty pile of metal. There were also pieces of twig that could be used to start a fire. She had a tent and a comfortable place to sleep. Her first day wasn’t going so bad.
