((Whenver my friends need a front page for a petition, they always ask me, since I can make them grusome enough to guilt people into signing them. Here is the one I wrote against animal testing))
Oh, look at that cute white rabbit! Its snow-pale fur covers a petit body as if hops forward in early spring among the forget-me-nots and snowdrops pushing up beneath damp earth. But where does it hop? Straight into a wrought iron cage, of course! But where is this cage going to, one might ask. Right to an animal testing facility of course! This lucky rabbit is the winner of our contest, and gets the reward of living in a steel cage for years! But this lucky rabbit doesn’t just have to stay in the cage all day! We aren’t that inhumane. Instead, this cute little bunny gets to be cut up and poisoned daily until it gets murdered!
This white rabbit is one of thousands of monkeys, birds, rodents, cats, dogs, and other various creatures that are tested on and killed by animal testing. Animal testing is a cruel, inhumane way to test products to make sure they are human-safe. I ask you this: Is it really worth 115 million lives per year to come out with a new hair product? Do our lives really mean anything anymore if we must kill 115 million creatures to get rid of pimples?
Remember that sweet little puppy you saw romping around last year in the fields? Well don’t fret, right now it’s getting its muscles hacked away from inside it’s thighs! Remember those cute baby mice, just opening their wee little eyes in the store last month? Don’t worry! They are busy getting chemicals pumped into their stomachs!
Oh wait! Remember I said 115 Million animals? Well, strictly speaking, that isn’t correct. The experimenters and the government refuse to count mice and rats as true animals, so really it’s more than that. We’re excluding the rodents, the guinea pigs, the ferrets, and the chinchillas.
As many people know, monkeys in the wild by habit spend hours socializing and grooming each other. Now, these fun-loving animals are spending their lives in misery, locked away by themselves, being tortured each day. Your dog needs attention, love, and exercise. You think it gets it in those slaughter houses? Mice cannot burro, pigs cannot build nests. In the rare times the animals’ cages are clean, they still cannot engage in any normal behavior.
Diseases that the animals would never come in contact with at any other time touch the animals. Kittens and cats are permanently blinded, mice grow tumors as large as they are, the animals are force-fed chemicals, the rats suffer through seizers. Repeatedly, the creatures are inflicted with surgery, where the only relief from pain is fainting or death.
How would you like to have your spine crushed, and wires spread through your brain? How would you like to be dumped back into a cell after unbearable pain that you must bear, without anything to numb it? How would you like, before your very own eyes, to feel the shriek of a creature dying, losing the will to go on, or being poisoned by a person, then watched its limp body fall?
How would it feel, to be so terrified of your life, that you lose all touch to sanity? What would it be like to flinch every time someone looks at you, and cower whenever someone walks past your cursed home? What is it like, to know that when all eyes turn to you, it is your turn to die?
