there are two kinds of posting on silverpen
and i suppose
on any forum
there is out of character posting (ooc.)
and
there is in character posting (ic.)
ooc. posting is just chat and can be seen as spam which can get you into immediate trouble with the staff on a site
or your name is kept in a little piece of grey matterial in the back of our heads for future referance
as we all know silverpen has a large ooc. section which, in its own way, is a very good indicator of a strong community who will log on day after day too make sure the site continues
but also it shows a lack of good posting
which can bring a good site down when it is rated...
(for those of us with our own forums it is a good idea to remove post counts from the ooc sections of our forums)
ic. posting is a good thing
it is helpful, meaningful and makes a site look good
if you have good ic. posts in a section you may be considered for some kind of praise or promotion
which is a good thing
we understand it is hard too churn out quality stories week after week
so you are allowed to have a break or a week
or even a few weeks
just as long as you have good ic. posts
